Dying Matters Awareness Week will take place 6 – 12 May 2024. Events are happening across Hertfordshire and west Essex.

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust
Tuesday 7 May – wellbeing hub in the main corridor of the Lister from 10.00-14.00, staffed by the Specialist Palliative care education team and the Butterfly Volunteer service. Come and ask any questions you have about end of life care.
Wednesday 8 May – for National Advance Care Planning Day, come and talk about lasting power of attorney and making plans ahead of a final illness.
Thursday 9 May – the main corridor of the Lister – 10.00-14.00, staffed by the Tissue viability team to talk about the importance of skin care at the end of life.
Hertfordshire County Council
The Community Learning Disability Nursing Team will be releasing Daily posters with examples of ways they can support conversations about end-of-life during Dying Matters Week as a way of raising awareness.
Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care
Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care will have a stand in the main foyer of Watford General Hospital, with a focus on Advance Care Planning. The stand will be open from 11-2 on Wednesday 8 May, next to the Macmillan information centre.
Hospice of St Francis
The HoSF Education Team at The Hospice of St Francis will be hosting the following workshops to support the upcoming Dying Matters Week.

Garden House Hospice Care
Garden House Hospice plans to have detailed conversations with attendees during ‘Dying Matters Week’ regarding ‘what patients would want for themselves and their loved ones’ at weekly wellbeing hubs across North Hertfordshire & Stevenage.
