Being part of our team
Our Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the local organisation that plans and oversees how NHS money is spent in Hertfordshire and west Essex. We are here to make sure health services work well and are of high quality.
By working at the ICB, you will play a huge part in transforming NHS services, to ensure that we design the services around the needs of our communities and make services accessible to all.
Because of the breadth and depth of our work, there are lots of opportunities and teams to work in which help you play a part in designing, commissioning, and monitoring services for everyone.
From primary care, quality, population health and finance, to clinical and patient support, system operations, and project and programme management.
The benefits for our staff
- 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 29 days at five years’ NHS service, and 33 days at 10 years’ service (pro rata for part-time work)
- Flexible working which enables you to work from home and the office
- Carers leave, and volunteer leave
- Fringe London Weighting – 5% of basic salary, subject to minimum and maximum payment per annum pro rata
- Paid occupational maternity, paternity and adoption leave
- Access to NHS discounts including the Blue Light card.
We work to national Agenda for Change terms and conditions, and staff can also join the NHS Pension Scheme.
How the ICB has committed to the health and wellbeing of its staff
We want to help all of our staff look after their health and wellbeing.
We know how it important it is to look after ourselves when it comes to performing at our best, living well and managing through challenging times. There are free services and resources available to staff to support everyone’s health and wellbeing. They include:
- the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) which provides online support, a telephone support line and counselling, alongside other services
- Mental Health First Aiders – a network of trained colleagues who are the first point of contact in the workplace
- Occupational Health.
Engaging with staff
We run informal staff briefings twice a month, which are chaired by an executive colleague. The briefings include presentations on different areas of work, and also gives anyone on the call a chance to feed back and ask questions about different work matters.
