The meeting was an opportunity to look back at the improvements to NHS health and care services led by the ICB over the past year, and was hosted by ICB Chief Executive Dr Jane Halpin, our Chair the Rt Hon Paul Burstow alongside Chief Finance Officer Alan Pond, who outlined the financial position of the organisation.
Highlights included:
- The ICB’s work to identify illnesses and conditions early, including high blood pressure and lung cancer
- Work to improve access to urgent dental appointments, GP services and care closer to home
- A look ahead to projects in the coming year, including the new community diagnostic centre in Epping and the new centre for planned surgery in St Albans
It was also a chance to thank the staff, volunteers and partner organisations we have worked with over the past 12 months and to look ahead at new projects and challenges.
Attendees, who included patients, volunteers, partner organisations and staff, were able to ask questions at the meeting, which included a focus on waiting times, integrated neighbourhood teams and the impact that NHS pay awards and GP collective action may have on finances.
If you were unable to attend on the day, you can watch a recording and view the slides which includes a number of photographs from across the past year.
