Jeff Stack is the Chief Executive at Broxbourne Borough Council in south east Hertfordshire, adjoining Enfield LB.
He joined the Council in 2008 as the Director of Environmental Services becoming Chief Executive in 2013. Previously he worked for Thanet, Swale and Shepway (now Folkestone and Hythe) Councils.
He is a chartered town planner by background and has been a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute since 1985. He is chairman of the Board of Broxbourne’s wholly owned subsidiary companies; Badger BCI, a housing company operating in the private rented market and Broxbourne Environmental Services Trading Ltd.
Jeff has led on the significant inward investment and regeneration that Broxbourne is currently seeing. Over £16m is currently being invested in Waltham Cross to transform the public realm of the town centre and to provide additional physical activity and training opportunities for local residents.
A hyperscale data centre by a multi-national technology company is being constructed alongside a Council owned business and technology facility in the growth corridor being created along the southern section of the A10.
These investments are in addition to the Council’s own joint venture with the County Council to deliver a new town centre for the Borough including 400,000ft2 retail and leisure with 1,500 new homes.
Broxbourne were winners of the Entrepreneurial Council of the Year award in 2017 awarded because of a combination of efficiency savings and an ambitious commercialisation programme. Broxbourne has been financially self-sufficient since 2017.
