Support for people with particular needs
We want to make sure that everyone can access the services that they need. We make provision for people who need additional support to access services and provide tailored support for people with particular needs such as carers, veterans and people with a learning difficulty.
-
Support for carers
If you are an unpaid carer there is a range of health, care, and voluntary support available. Identifying yourself as a carer or on your GP and other health records can benefit your own health, and that of the person you care for. -
Support for people with a learning disability
If you have a disability or impairment, and you need extra support with accessing a health service, there is help available. -
Support for veterans
The ICB, along with our partners, are committed to ensuring members of the Armed Forces Community have fair and easy access to health and social care services. -
Support for people with hearing or speech impairments
If you are deaf or have a hearing loss or impaired speech there is support and technology in place to help you access health services. -
Interpreting and translation services
Your local health services can arrange interpreting services to help service users and carers whose first language is not English. -
Support for parents and families
The Healthier Together website has advice for parents and young people as well as and clinical resources to support healthcare professionals – which means that your child is likely to receive consistently high-quality care, irrespective of which healthcare professional they see.
